HAIRCARE
FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS
WASHING YOUR EXTENSIONS
- We recommend washing your bundles every other week. Use a light shampoo to lather once followed by a good co-wash (using a conditioner as a shampoo). Follow up with a good moisturizing conditioner to keep the hair soft and manageable. (Ensure all of the conditioner is rinsed out to avoid heaviness and buildup on the hair). If time is available, it's best to let the hair air dry but blow-drying is also ok with the use of a Good heat protectant spray (We recommend Tresseme heat tamer spray). Shampoo & conditioner brands we love are Silicon mix (argon oil), Loreal, or Tresseme.
GENERAL CARE
AVOID THE USE OF OILS OR HEAVY STYLING PRODUCTS.
Too many products leave a buildup or residue on the hair which will make it harder to style due to stiffness. A light serum is ok to apply, such as bio silk. To care for hair overnight, use flexi rods or pin curls to maintain curled styles or wrap your hair to maintain straight styles. Tie hair up at night with a satin scarf or bonnet!
LUXE CURLY HAIR CARE
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP CURLY EXTENSIONS MOISTURIZED! COWASH CURLY HAIR WEEKLY!
NEVER try to comb through curly extensions when dry. Only comb or manipulate when the hair is wet. When washing curly extensions, lather with a light shampoo only once. it is then best to only co-wash (use a conditioner as a shampoo). To keep curls looking fresh and defined, we recommend co-washing at least once a week. We recommend letting curly hair air dry. If you want to press out your curly extensions, section off and blow-dry with a comb attachment or a paddle brush. Spray a heat protectant and then take small sections and press through the hair using the "chase method" (following the flat iron with a small tooth comb). once all of the hair is pressed out, you can leave it bone straight or go in and do some curls using a flat iron or curling iron.
NIGHT CARE:
To tie up curly extensions at night, pull all of the hair into a high ponytail on top of your head and then put on a satin bonnet.
The use of product is optional not mandatory. Water alone is enough to keep hair nice curly and fluffy. For a more tamed look, foam wraps such as lotta body or Nairobi work really well.
